Overview
Qatar is listed in the Wafid system. However, many Qatar work visas for Indian nationals are processed through the Qatar Visa Centre (QVC), which handles biometrics and medical examination itself.
Before booking a Wafid appointment for Qatar, please confirm with your employer or agency which process applies to you. If a GCC / Wafid medical is required, we can help you book it.
Visa categories & medical
- If your visa process is through the Qatar Visa Centre, your medical is usually done at the QVC – we do not book QVC appointments.
- Some visa categories or employer instructions may still ask for a GCC-approved medical – follow those instructions.
- Family visa requirements depend on the sponsor and visa type.
Tips for Qatar applicants
- Ask your employer in writing which medical you need – QVC or Wafid.
- Do not pay for two medicals unnecessarily.
- Keep your passport details identical across all applications.
What the medical usually includes
The GCC pre-departure medical typically includes a general physical examination, chest X-ray, blood tests (for example HIV, hepatitis B and C, syphilis and blood group), urine and sometimes stool tests, and a pregnancy test for women. The exact tests are set by GCC standards and the medical centre. Results are decided only by the medical centre.
